Hi, I just bought a xperia x10 mini pro in August. A week later I insert a 8gb memory card the cellphone showed me a message: Memory card SD damaged. Or: Verifying mistakes in memory.
It didn´t showed me my music and photos and the cell phone asked me to format the card. I formatted it and it starts to work ok but after 2 or 3 days appears the same problem.
Additionally the cellphones sometimes restart itself, even without I´m not using it.
Any ideas what it could be happening or how to fix the problem? The cellphone came with Android 1.6 and I updated to 2.1
Hi, it would be advisable to Software Repair phone to eliminate the possibility of a software issue.
Software Repair is similiar to phone update which you have previously performed. Again, this process will erase phone data completely (SD Card not affected).
Hi, thanks for answering. I´ve reinstalled the software and the problem remains. The worst of all, the person who sold me the phone says that I lost my warranty because I update the software to Android 2.1
I know it´s not true but it´s hard to demonstrate it
Updating of Official SE Software will not void your warranty.
Since you have done a Software Repair and problem still exists, it could possibily due to a defective SD Card (hopefully it's not a hardware issue). Are you able to test with another SD Card?
That´s what I think too about the warranty but the person who sold me the phone didn´t want to reconize it, they just respect the warranty if there wasn´t modifications in the phone, if I updated, reinstall the software, they say the phone isn´t in the state they sell it. (I know, what a jerk)
Anyway if I read the memory card directly on my computer it shows all the files, when I see it through the phone it shows the unit drive but I can´t opened and the phone appears as a CD unit :s
I´ll try to get another SD card to prove it, but the restart issue could be because the SD card too? or it´s a different problem?
Thanks for your attention.
Now I think what you have mentioned is a warranty between you and the shop you bought from.
I can't be sure that a faulty SD Card can cause the phone restart, but it could be a possibility.
Keep us updated on your findings after swapping the SD Card.
