Memory card question

I own a W995, and I bougth a M2 8GB memory card. I would like add more memory to it, I was thinking a M2 16GB memory card. The phone specifies that it holds up to 8GB. My questions is: if I were to use the 16GB card on my phone, would my phone be affected in any way? Would it affect the memory card? Any help would be appreciate it. Thanks.

It if will work, your phone will be unstable, so stick with the 8 GB one, it's sufficient for a phone

The W995 is in fact designed to take an M2 card up to a capacity of 16GB (just look on the SE site under W995 specifications). I have a W995 and have been using a 16 GB card with it with absolutely no problems.Just make sure you buy a genuine memory card as fake ones can indeed destabilise or even damage your phone.

I can tell you, with 1000% confidence, the W995 does take a 16GB M2 card properly and without problem. Why? Because I had a 16GB M2 card I used my my old W995.... now that I've switched to X10, I'm stuck with it and nowhere to use it in.

Thanks! I swear that the same page used to say up to 8GB. Maybe I was looking at the W995A? Thanks for the help!

It did say up to 8GB and mine came with a 8GB card. But I am always one to push the envelope. So I found it out the expensive way.

LOL.... I bought the 16GB M2 card in the first week it was launched, and  without prior confirmation if it will even work with my then-W995i.

How's that for taking a high and expensive risk?

And oh! I can also 10,000% assure you the 32GB micro-SD card works with the X10i! lol..... I'm nuts, I know.
