memory card not read

Hi im after a bit of  help.

Ive just upgraded my samsung s2 and bought the sony z1 but seem to be having some issues.

ive been trying to send my music from my pc to the phone which sends fine to the phone but will not send to the memory card and keep getting failed to send messages when i try to send music to the memory card from the pc.

I have tried to send the files to the sd card using the in phone storage settings and keep getting a message saying Memory has stopped.

Ive tried my micro SD HC 16gb  memory card and my Micro SD HC 8gb card both work in my samsung s2 and other devices but keep having the same error messages when trying to use in my Z1. if tried formatting both in the Z1 and they format ok but then i still have the same problem.

The phone displays the memory card and its capacity so it is obviously reading the card.

As the phone is new im not sure if the phone is faulty or if this is a known issue with these phones

Can I ask you what brand are the cards?

Hiya yes the 8gb card is a sandisk card which i got with my galaxy phone and the 16gb card im not sure as it was just a cheap card from china but has always worked fine in my other phones and virtual video glasses

Sandisk or Sony cards work best in xperias.Try to low level format your card when you connect it to your computer via an adapter.

Ok thanks i will try that then. I have transfered some music onto the sd card using a card reader on my Pc and have put the card back into the phone and it plays all the music fine but is still not allowing me to transfer anything to the card while its in the phone which seems strange but i will try to format on the pc now

Keep us updated.It could be a temporary problem,maybe a restart will fix it.But do format your card.
