Hello, I would like to know how can manage sim contacts without having to store them on the phone and then have to import or export.
Thanks.
I think you need a 3rd party app to manage your SIM contacts.
Thanks for the reply.
In other smartphones when you create a new contact, the phone allows you to choose where to store it (sim, phone, google account ...). The sim option not appear in the z1 compact, but I do not know if this is a feature of the android version (4.4.4) or is exclusive in sony smartphones.
I have seen that on my Z1 as well,as I remember older firmwares allowed you to store on SIM or maybe just backup on SIM?
As standard, you are only able to save a contact as local contact or to an online account. But in some cases, the software is customized and thereby have the option to save a contact to the SIM-card.
It is a shame that Sony did not include that possibility in their software.
I am very upset about it.
I'm sorry to hear that, but the SIM-card is pretty limited and do not have that much storage. You can only store about 150-200 numbers (depending on SIM-card) on the SIM-card. There is also a limit on the storage, it's only possible to store one number per name on the SIM-card.
Enough for me. But if I had known that, you can not manage the contacts from the sim, I would not had bought a Sony smartphone
