M2 Xperia Alarm controls missing

I have lost the swipe off screen controls when the alarm is going off I have no way to stop it, I have to turn the whole phone fully off!

Seems to have happened in last few days.

This looks weird. This problem could be due to a 3rd party app. Do you use any app that controls screen's brightness ? "screen filter" ?

If you don't use such apps then 

Go to settings > apps > all > clock > clear data .

After that, check if the problem exists and report back.

Also, make sure that clock app is set to show notifications.
