I suggest that you download the application "Xperia Diagnostics" from Google Play. From this application you can test the microphone.
You can also go to Settings > Call settings > The tab "General" > Noise suppression, if this one is not marked try to mark it. If it's marked, unmark it to see if you experience the same behaviour.
