LTE connection issues

Hi am a newbie here,

brought my Z3 Dual from Hong Kong to Canada and the LTE does not work. APN settings etc are all correct, max speed I get is H+, I am near an LTE tower also.

After some research my D6683 supports the following bands: 850/1900/2100 (no 1700/2600)

My provider Bell uses AWS 1700/2100 Bands and 2600 (Band 7?) as well as 850/1900 for H+ which explains why my H+ is working.

I read that it would be possible to flas the basebands on the phones? is that advisable? Anyone done this before with proven success?

I am thinking this is a hardware issue not a software issue? But could be wrong of course.

Now I am even considering traving in my Z3 Dual for a Z3+ Dual which seems to have a wider band availibility:

UMTS HSPA+ 850 (Band V), 900 (Band VIII), 1700 (Band IV),
1900 (Band II), 2100 (Band I) MHz
TD-LTE (Band 38, 39, 40, 41)
FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 17, 20)
LTE Cat 4 Up to 50 Mbps (upload), up to 150 Mbps (download) HAC/TTY

Can you confirm the Z3+ Hong Kong would work in Canadas Bell LTE network?

These are indeed hardware limitations so flashing new software won't solve anything unfortunately.

There are different versions of the Z3+ intended for different markets (different bands). The Xperia Z3+ dual/E6533 supports the following bands:

GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz UMTS HSPA+ 850 (Band V), 900 (Band VIII), 1700 (Band IV), 1900 (Band II), 2100 (Band I) MHz TD-LTE (Band 38, 39, 40, 41) FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 17, 20)

If your operator uses these bands there shouldn't be any issues.
