LT18i erratic screen issue

Folks, I am unable to use my phone itself now. The screen behaves erratically. It's so random that I am even afraid of writing anything to anyone. For example if I try to select a particular whatsapp message to forward to someone, it may decide to select another one and then I will be unable to scroll to the whatsapp group I want to send to. Similar thing happens when I want to text. It will put random letters and even while pressing backspace to delete, suddenly it will send it as well. Pls advice

You may need to perform a software repair using PC companion. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 60% battery.

Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).

Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).

Thanks. But didn't help as I forgot to mention one more sysmptom. Earlier, i.e. if I try and squeeze or twist or squeesh the phone, the display used to become brighter and worked perfectly. However this trick not helping me now for the last 1 month. To my mind seems like some loose connection somewhere which used to fall in line while being twisted.

Any pointers now?

Cheers

You should have the device checked at a sony service:
