Hello,
My phone is an Xperia active ST17. I did the full software update because my memory was full and the battery lifetime
was less than 1 day.
Then restarting my device I noticed that the contact book have been synchronized with my Google account, but only the Email adresses were updated and note the phone numbers!
Using the filtering of my contact book I see only the old phone numbers which were in my SIM card : less than 10% of my contact book!
Is there a solution to retrieve all my data????
Thank you very much
Sadly your contacts are gone
It was my feeling! **bleep**, really nothing is smart in this "smart phone"! Even the basic backup does not work...
Stone age was more secure !!!! Arf
Thank you for your fast answer

How did you back up your contacs? PC Companion or the backup & restore app?
have you checked on your computer > access your gmail > contacts
I did the backup with PC Companion.
my Outlook contact as well as my gmail contact only have Email adress but no phone number.

If you did a backup via PCC you should have a .dbk file - now if you change the extension ie: .dbk to .rar or .zip you will be able to extract the files and folders from this - Then in one of the folders you will have a txt document with all your contacts - Problem with it is that they won't be in a nice colomn they will be one after the other so you will need to should you wish to retype them back into your phone
no .dbk file...
When you did a backup via PCC did you have a file saved normally located Documents\Sony\Sony PC Companion\Phone backups - in there you should have a backup file
