Hello and thanks for the time to read
I have recently purchased a Z3 Dual sim D6633 and around twice a day either when receiving or making a call the phone suddenly drops out during conversation and both network strength bars are showing no signal. a message briefly shows up saying no no network signal ( or something to that effect ) then dissappears. A few seconds later the signal comes back for both sims and all is ok again.
I have absolutly no idea why this is happening but its becoming frustrating especially when I have to call clients back....
Has anyone experienced this before or know a fix for it. currently Sim 1 is set for GSM only (2G) and Sim 2 for LTE. both are on Telstra.
The phone updated to the latest version when I got it and to my knowledge hasnt updated since - 5.0.2
Would really appreciate your help with this, thanks
Hi,
Unfortunately, it's hard to pinpoint the problem when it comes to phones with dual functionality and network related problems. Do you have the possibility to try another SIM-card, perhaps a SIM-card from another operator? Or the best scenario, two SIM-cards from another operator.
That screen shot is the exact issue im having
Unfortunately my work provided sim is the only network my company uses, my personal sim I have in slot 2 is from the same supplier Telstra.
Should I still bother with the PCC repair option ?
Thanks
@Hampus
Any other suggestions ?
Is this something that can be elevated to a firmware issue ?
Thanks
i try and change sim but the same provider its still happen the probleam but when i used it for a weak with one sim it work fine and never losed network
A software repair via PC Companion is always good to perform to exclude problems related to the software. But just like uliwooly said, neither do I think that this will make any difference since it does not sound like a software issue.
Have you tried different network modes in your phone? Only GSM/Only WCDMA etc? If not, that's one thing that you could try.
i make repare for my phone with sony pc companion yasterday and i wait and see what whil happen however i was have a probleam that many times when i use speaker on calls the caller cant hear me or be very bad qulity and repaire didnt fix it
also its my sim in gsm only what u think the better i use
I have a Xperia Z3 Dual and experience exactly the same problem. It happens during every phone call after around 10 minutes. Call drops and both signals at zero for 30 minutes or so. When I dial the number again, it will happen again after 5 minutes or less. It makes the phone basically unusable, which is very unfortunate. Sim-cards are China Mobile (Sim1, GSM) and China Unicom (Sim2, LTE). I switched the slots which didn't help.
Unfortunately, I am experiencing the same issue. Brand new D6633. I've bought it to get rid of two phones (private and business), installed both SIM cards in my new Z3.SIM1 is set to use WCDMA+LTE only (and data transfer of course), SIM2 uses GSM only. Unfortunately, my calls are dropped quite often - but only when I call using SIM2. My service providers are: Orange Poland (SIM1) and T-Mobile Poland (SIM2).
I am totally disappointed: in the end this is a high-end phone, I've paid quite a lot of money for it and it seems to be unusable! I know, design, smartphone features are important, but in the end it is supposed to be a PHONE, right? So call drops are totally unacceptable... I don't think so it is a network operator issue, since the same SIM card was working well in another phone for a long time before.
If the counterpart hears you badly in calls, you could always check Settings > Call > Microphone noise suppression > Disable if it's enabled or vice versa.
But if you guys have tried the suggestions in my previous post and the problem still persist, I suggest that you visit nearest service center to have the phone examined by a technician. Take a look at the following FAQ topic for further info how to proceed:
