My Xperia sola (MT27i) is two weeks old and my sim card a month. So both are pretty new. A few days after buying the mobile I made an update to Android 4.0.4. The build-number is 6.1.1.B.1.54, newest I found and is available. The mobile lose the connection to my mobile network,it's the most favorite network in Germany (Telekom T-D1). I don't recognize that it lost the connection because the signal on the screen is good. Still i like to call somebody or send a SMS it won't works. Even if somebody is trying to call me, he won't get me. After shut down the mobile and start it again, it works!!
I wrote that somebody else have the same issues, but I didn't find a solution for it.
I called the helpdesk and they explained to use the repair function in PC Companion software and I did, but without success. Today I tried to call somebody and to send a SMS to somebody else and it didn't work.
Before I bought the Xperia I use a different mobile phone an it worked fine. So it can't be the behaviour of the sim card.
So, what can I do???? Please, give me some help.
Have the same problem and I don't know how to solve this problem =(
try to go to to network settings, try to change your connection to WCDMA or GSM .
@nolramlb: That was one point the helpdesk told me and I changed it, but it didn't help. Thanks for the hint.
The main question for me: Is it an issue of the hardware or of the software?
its more on the software, try to go to a local service center, ask if they offer to downgrade your firmware back to Gingerbread. http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/
