Looking for small smartpphone - would you recommend xperia mini?

Hi,

Would welcome advice.

I've been using a HTC Salsa but am having many problems. I'm considering buying an Xperia Mini tomorrow but wondered if there are similar issues.

For example, my main problems have been the internal memory on the Salsa is insuffcient.  It says it comes with 512 mb but 400 of this is taken up by the OS, leaving just over 100 available, and with the preloaded apps that you can't move to SD card it is very difficult to cope with this internal memory as it fills up with cache etc.  I very quickly reached a stage where I couldn't move anything else to SD card and yet did not have enough internal memory to download FB upgrades etc.  Is this similar with the Xperia Mini?

Also had wifi issues, constantly dropping the wifi connection and not picking up mobile network instead, so that I have to manually drop the wifi and reconnect, tiresome!

Grateful to hear the pros and cons of the Xperia Mini before making my decision tomorrow.

Thank you!!

i've been using xperia mini for 2mnths not single problem i've been faced it's a great mighty phone with lots of features packed in though it is small in size it comes with a 1gd inbuilt phone memory but user will be able to get around 320mb...but I got only one issue that's the ambient light sensor coz it flickers in low light..as it is very sensetive but the flickering starts when you low down the brightness level around 30% or low but if u keep it average around 50-60% it won't flickers....to me it's a great phone I would suggest you go for it...:D

Not at all, if anything get the

Xperia Active, its waterproof and the screen is Gorilla Glass so you can NOT scratch it at all, you can use a knife and it wont leave a mark

or

Xperia Ray, its like the Arc but smaller and it has a great back Camera

if I were you, I would wait, why? because the new Xperias that will replace the Xperia mini, mini pro, ray, etc will be announced at Barcelona at the MWC 2012 by the end of February, so the 2011 Xperia's price should decrease

thanks for your replies. After having a look in store and because I didn't want to wait any longer  I went for the Xperia Ray and I'm very happy with it, although still having a few wifi issues, but this may be a problem with the router? When the screen times out it seems to turn off wifi, haven't found out how to change this yet, although it's not a huge problem as it reconnects when I "wake" the phone again. However occasionally it loses the connection to my wifi and gets stuck on "authenticating ....", my husband works in IT and yet we can't work out why this should be happening. will carry on researching online and maybe try a new router.
