Lollipop update

I recently got the Lollipop update for my Xperia M2. But every time I click on update I get a message saying that 'internal memory full remove some applications you need 1.2Gb of free space' . The only thing I have on my internal memory is the apps that came with the phone and it doesn't give me the option to uninstall them which I think is crap since I don't use any of them. Everything I have downloaded is on my SD card. I have removed some of the apps that I have downloaded hoping I could install the update and then I could reinstall all my downloads again but it didn't work. I just keep getting the same message. I have been having this problem for the last few weeks and I don't know what else to do. Can anyone help me?

@Jacks73

You have 2 options either uninstall the updates or use PCC to update your phone, mind that it will delete everything on your phone

PC Companion (PCC)

Bridge (for Mac)

Alternatives on How to backup Xperias

I  agree. Don't update Lollipop. Too many problems.

My daughter's M2 couldn't be updated due to full internal memory, but that saved hers! I was stupid enough to upgrade to Lollipop only to regret doing that....

No it didn't. I've pretty much giving up trying to update my phone. I think I'm just going to keep it as it is but it sure put me off buying another Sony phone. The hassle I've been getting is just totally not worth it.
