All of a sudden I have no mobile data and no wifi works except my home wifi.
I've already wasted hours trying to fix this and a bloke in a bike shop told me all his mates with Sony phones have the same problems. I NEED mobile data and I don't have time or inclination to train as a geek - and WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO?
Sorry to shout but this is just not acceptable.
And I downloaded PC companion but it doesn't run.
Not sure I see any upside in Lollipop anyway.
How can I revert to Kitkat?
Check the APN settings. Happens to me too, the update seems to kind of messing it up
Open: Settings > More > Mobile network > Access point names
Make sure APNs that show up in this window are the correct ones. You can open each APN and have a look inside them. They can be edited.
I am afraid I dont personaly know what APN settings you are supposed to have but maybe someone else at the forum knows. It is related to what operator you have and what country you are in. So you need to provide this information if you want help with that.
Lollipop is indeed a total disaster on this phone, probably other Xperias too going by what I have read. I'm on my 3rd Xperia phone after the X10 and the Xperia S and this is by far the worst, most botched up update Sony have delivered.
I am trying to contact Sony Mobile directly via their contact us, at http://support.sonymobile.com/gb/xperiaz1compact/contactUs/phone/?region=en_GB but it just will not send! I've entered all required fields, but pressing the send button does nothing....how do I go about contacting Sony to complain about this update and voice my concerns? This update has ruined my phone and that is no exageration!!
Can you elaborate? What issues are you facing since the Lollipop upgrade?

There may be other issues - haven't noticed them BUT
I have no mobile data. No emails, no maps, no internet no nothing. I though I couldn't get wifi except my home wifi but that seems to be wrong. Occasionally I suddenly get 23 new emails (or similar) and can only conclude I walked past a completely open wifi hub.
I have talked at length to my phone network and messed with the APN - but the phone reverts to the wrong APN as soon as I set it to the right one. I just want the flaming thing to work as it did perfectly fine before this 'upgrade'
What is particularly infuriating is that nobody seems to acknowledge a problem, though I'm told many Sony users are victims here.
What operator do you use and in what country?
I use The People's Operator in the UK
