Lock Screen sleep timer

Hi, I have the following scenario :

1.) Using Screen Lock : Slide to Unlock security option.

2.) Display - Sleep setting set to 1 minute.

Now, when the phone is asleep, i press the power button, the Slide to Unlock screen shows up (the Lock Screen).

Instead of unlocking, I slide down the Notification Panel to check on messages, etc. While in this screen, even though i'm touching the screen etc, the screen will go dark after around 10 seconds. Is there a separate option to control the sleep interval while in the Lock Screen? Thanks.

Unfortunately there is no way to adjust this seperate setting. This is by design as you may accidentally wake the screen whilst it is in your pocket. If you adjusted the timeout for this section then it could potentially have a detrimental affect on your battery life.
