lock screen apps not displaying nor functioning

When one listens to music or any other media source, the lock screeN will display what's happening and allow certain functions. That's gone! It shows time but will not scroll through pinned apps nor display current media apps running. This occurred after setting up chromecast. Help!

Hi, i'm a technotard and have the opposite problem - i turn my phone on and do NOT want my email inbox showing in the lock screen...how do i remove it?

You should be able to remove it if you tap longer on it,make sure you do not have a PIN/password/pattern.
