Locating my device

Hello, how do you do?

I was trying the MyXperia site and I noticed something that I consider a fault. The service cannot locate my phone unless it is online; either by wifi or mobile data. What if I turned them off? Or somebody stole the phone and he turned it off? Does that mean that there is no way I can get my phone back?

That's normal even with google's tools you need that the phone is on and either you have a data connection or wifi
