Let's do a list of known lollipop issues

My update to lollipop has left me feeling more than let down - I feel like I've had my phone stolen & a childs toy put in its place.

Not liking lollipop at all & here's my initial dislikes & failings regarding this firmware.

Awful "material design" looks - just looks childish with all the bright awful primary colours.

Battery life reduced by 20-25% used to get 2 days with average usage only getting maximum 36 hours now - you'll have to amend your advetising 2 days battery life brags SONY because it simply doesn't happen now (unless you don't actually use the phone)

"Ok google" voice command not working from locked screen off. I've had this working on other phones on older firmwares - sort it SONY!!!

"Style cover" issues - Sony's official cover doesn't work properly for some with the lollipop update.

"Extra large" font size causes missing scripts on pages such as the now horrible alarm app. This alarm page is truely awful & would have stopped me updating if I had seen it prior to making this update mistake.

"Close all" button missing from open app carousel - huge mistake but is this a Google or a Sony mistake?

Battery taking a lot longer to charge(over 4 hours to charge from 6% to 99% & was stuck on 99% for over 15 minutes) - this is unforgivable especially with the loss of battery life (my guess is my battery is taking upto 2 hours longer to reach fully charged but this may be squedd due to using more battery in normal usage)

Bluetooth not working as good as pre lollypop - tracks skip, poor quality at times & occasional lipsync issues. POOR poor poor (this is affecting the use of my bluetooth motorbike helmet (which was not cheap) & my Samsung HS3000 bluetooth dongle.

These are my initial feelings about this (seriously not rushed update by Sony) lollipop update. It's my opinion that Sony have made a bit of a balls with this update - creating more problems & solving non, making the phone harder to use & ugly to look at - I have regrets.

RICKARD the mod - Please STOP editing my posts - Do we live in North Korea? Freedom of speech my friend the heading is as is & it may help others find some answers to there lollipop problems.

3) audio profile settings; just press volume up or down, even when locked. you can then change the profile

4) can't you just turn off wifi manually (if you have to, i mean) then the data should kick in automatically?

5) can't reproduce, but when you long press on the middle suggested word and get the little popup with more suggested words the colour scheme is as awful in lollipop as it was in kitkat.

> .As for project Volta its in the Nexus phones.

It's in Android 5.0, so it's in both nexus and non-nexus phones.

3) I am listening to music.... I need to reduce the volume Of phone or change the audio profile. It won't work, right?

4) when there was an amazing feature doing it automatically then why do I have to get back to the past again :'( plus I always forget nowadays to switch on the wifi disabling data when I am at home.. And to switch of the wifi enabling data when I leave my home.

5) may be a bug... Especially to me Slightly_frowning_Face Jo Jo... A backspace creates a previously typed characters to appear again. Sometimes even thrice or more Slightly_frowning_Face annoys a lot...

No, i was quoting someone else's comment from earlier in the thread.  This forum software isn't very good so it's just one long flat thread, isn't it.

4) If you leave wifi scanning on all the time (in the advanced wifi settings) it does connect/disconnect to wifi automatically.

4) and I know battery draining is almost negligible. But do you agree with me that the feature was good and it's unnecessary removing it.

#kazam The reason the Nexus phones get the software and updates first is that we report the bugs we find and google developers put them in order of priority and task someone to fix the bug.So they do software updates and release again. So that when OEM's release their are far fewer bugs.Plus we don't report issues like close all is missing. As close all has nothing to do with vanilla android as it's never been on it.We have always swiped to remove open programs by either up or across.I have a Z3 as well as my 3 Nexus devices and believe me some of the bugs that I have encountered would have made normal smartphone users pull their hair out. There are still bugs about and they will get fixed through updates but as with any OS until total tried in the wild bugs appear..

It was unnecessary if it saved battery, but if the current state is no worse battery wise then it's actually better now as there's one less configuration option to deal with.    I do see people grumbling about battery life and perhaps this is contributing to that but i'm not sure it's possible to prove that this is affecting it one way or the other.
