Hello.
My Xperia P has fallen down on the ground. Everything works, but looks terrible. LCD is OK, but frame of LCD is damaged - broken in few places. I'm nervous about it.
My question is:
Is it possible to replace only the frame of LCD (the bulge one) or should I replace quite LCD modul?
I haven't come across any disassembly video of the P nor any repair manual. The best thing would be to take it to a Sony Service Cente and get a quote. I think that the front panel can be changed.
Support Service from my country says that I have to replace quite LCD Panel - but for me it is unbelieveable. It costs about 150 EUR. LCD Panel is all right, only the thing around LCD has little damage.
It is possible that it is 1 single unit. There is a possibility that the frame and the LCD are stuck together or something. Use the phone as it is as the LCD is functional. Else take a second opinion from some place else (Your Warranty may be void if you get it done from outside).
you should bring it to sony service center, there's a risk of taking it to some place else. it's better to pay an amount that you are sure the problem will be fixed than taking it to cheaper place.
same problem bro....i'll see if i find any solution and post
peace
You know, my LCD is OK. Only the frame... I can not believe that for this stick of plastik I have to pay about 150 EUR. I don't need to replace my LCD - why should I pay for it???
because you dropped it, and the warranty doesn't cover that.
Which Sony Center do you mean? Could you give me adress?
