Hi All,
I have purchased Arc S a few days back and updated it to v4.0.3 ICS. The build number for my phone is 4.1.A.0.562.
I have checked on the following official Sony page, the current build number for Sony ARC S is 4.1.B.0.587.
Sony xPeria Arc S Latest Version for Singapore (and yes, I have selected my Country as Singaproe before checking onto this page!!).
The date on which this build was available was stated as May 28, 2012 on the following Sony Discussion page for my SI number: 1253-9247
Update Schedule for Sony xPeria Arc S
I tried to check for the latest available version using Mac Bridge for Sony on my Mac Bookpro, PC Companion on Windows and even Software update service in Phone Settings, but unfortunately all of them are displaying a message that my software is up to date.
Is it something I am missing?
How do I upgrade from 4.1.A.0.562 to 4.1.B.0.587? I am living in Singapore and got this phone from Sony Store with GB as the base version.
I would really like to update to this version, as I feel that Sony must have resolved the issue for fast battery discharge.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Ashish Sharma

Hi uliwolly,
Thanks for your quick reply.
I hope that for manual update I have to root my phone, that will eventually void my warranty. Definitely, I don't want to go for this option.
I will wait and can understand that no one including you can give the exact dates on which the update is available for my phone.
The weirest thing was that on schedule page it was written that last update was May 28, 2012 and update page is saying that latest version is 4.1.B.0.587 for my country. This is something strange, it seems that different departments in Sony are not communicating well before posting the infomation on there official website...LOL!!!:smileylaugh:
flashing it's not the same as rooting, the list was for the previous update, not for the latest update, so are you locked to a network?

Ok, so is there any new list where I can see the schedule for new updates?
Also, I am not locked to any network. I purchased my phone from Sony Store directly without any contract..
As you said that flashing is not same as rooting means that flashing do not void my warranty?
Secondly, after I flash with new version, if I try to reset my phone to factory settings, will it revert to old version or new version?
Thanks you in advance!
