I would like to update the android version in my mobile, I have found this topic speaking about it:

Android 4.0.4 build number .587 it is indeed the last update.

I am reading so many problems with this update, I don't know if it is a good idea..

You could create a backup of your current firmware > update to ICS > if you don't like it then downgrade
