Kodi (was XBMC) touch screen not working

It seems tha there is something "odd" with this app or the Z4.  I was advised on the Kodi forum that the Xperia touch screen does not work with this app.  It worked OK on my Z2.  The Kodi "experts" say it is a Sony problem.  Does this make sense?  Is this something that Sony needs to fix?  Seems strange as all other apps seem to be OK with the touchpad.

That doesn't make sense, they are the app developers, they have to fix any compatibility issues.

I have the same problem. Kodi is a very popular media center and it works on every single Xperia phone and tablet but not the xperia z4 tablet and z3+ phone. When starting the app the screen does not get any touch input. Volume buttons work and using a bluetooth keyboard works as well.  Assassin's Creed Pirates and Greed Corp are reported to have the same issues. 

It probably happens especially with these apps because they interface directly with the touch api. Most apps are using standard android gui which handles touch events on its own. For apps using this beviour, although it's not common, is perfectly normal.

Sony changed something in the way the xperia devices handle the touch input and I kindly request them to change it. Kodi works on every single device so I expect it to work on Xperia Z4 as well.
