kitkat update process

Hi,

I bought 2 months ago a Z1 (android 4.3) without any subscription. I'm using it with an old Sim card from "Orange Luxembourg". (voice & data availale)

I don't received any update at the moment (kitkat) and I read in several posts that the update could depend on the country or the carrier ??

Do I have any chance to receive the update in my situation ?

wait for couple of days..you will get it for sure

You will get the update - Regardless of how old the sim is - Updates are governed by your customization number so when yours is approved you will get it - Alternatively you could manually flash using a .ftf firmware file

You can download "Xperia Update Checker" for check if Kitkat is already available for your country.

Download it here.

For find out the CustNr. , type the follow in your phone: *#*#7378423#*#*, then choose "service info", "software info" -> "customization version".

Why would we download an app, when the app on the phone will let us know when its out, because we would download the update, over the air or by the pc

The OTA notificator is not on time. It can happen that an update is out for you for about 2 weeks already but the OTA updater tells you theres no update.

Thats why I use the xperia checker. If it tells me an update released for my region then i just go and start pc companion or SUS and directly update.

Its not out for my device,  I've checked with OTA and PCC and update Service
