Kitkat update for UK unbranded Z1

I have a UK Xperia Z1 unbranded phone on O2 and am still waiting for the update to 4.4 KItkat. It's now been over 3 weeks since the update first launched and from looking at the Xperia Update checker I can see that almost all other territories have had the update except for the unbranded version in the UK and 2 or 3 other countries. It would appear that all the UK networks have updated their phones except for T mobile. Does this mean I've got to wait until T mobile have approved the update before Sony rolls it out to their unbranded phones? If so how long is this likely to take and why is it taking T Mobile so long when all the other networks updated about a week ago?

Brick wall time again for me from Sony Mobile UK:

Thank you for contacting the Sony Xperia support centre, with regards to your previous email about the update for your sim free handset. I can confirm that even if your handset is a sim free handset you will still receive the update like a handset that is either locked or unlocked to a network provider. This is a gradual roll out and can also depend on the region and the batch number of the handset. Unfortunatly we can not give out specific dates for each individual handset as to when they will receive latest update.

... and my answer:

Hi

Here's the problem.  Only the UK sim-free handset hasn't got the 4.4.2 update.  Every other country in the EU has the 4.4.2 update for their sim-free handsets.

The UK sim-free handset is TWO updates behind; and no update requests via the normal means allows the handset to update.

I really need to understand the reason behind this as the release my handset is on has a bug in Bluetooth which affects my usage of the device.

To be honest the brick wall myself and others are coming up against is becoming a pain.

Please escalate this issue to someone who can answer the question - thanks

(I won't hold my breath as I'll turn blue before answers)

I've just read that the new bug fixing update for Kitkat has literally just been launched.  http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/04/09/new-update-14-3-a-0-757-now-rolling-to-xperia-z1-z-ultra-and-z1...

It's only available in a few select regions at the minute but I am seriously hoping and praying that this version makes it's way to our UK sim free phones ASAP.

So basically we could be back to square one while we wait for Sony to  bring the original firmware to our phones while it seems like we should at least got this update ages ago.

I would like to see this update rolled to the UK this week instead of waiting for something that aways seems to take awhile to end up on our phone.  I asked customer support and that was like talking to a robot running out of juice. LOL

I also asked in my local Vodafone shop and they said for me to check Google play which made me scratch my head and laugh.
