keyboard problem

Hi everyone, I downloaded "big button keyboard" to my phone today, didn't like it so uninstalled. Now my Xperia keyboard is messed up. I have Japanese text appearing, Japanese and English symbols on the keyboard itself and gesture input although on (box ticked) is not working. Any ideas how to get back to normal?

Thanks for replying. Managed to sort it out by going to settings>privacy>settings reset. However I now have the unwanted options of a Chinese keyboard and a Japanese keyboard in setting>keyboards and language, which I can't delete. The app I downloaded then uninstalled yesterday somehow managed to change my settings to the Chinese keyboard (not Japanese as I thought). The Chinese keyboard allows you to enter text in both English and Chinese. Once again thanks for taking the time to help.
