Had the Z3 Compact for not even 24 hours and I'm already unimpressed with it, mainly due to what I would call Keyboard lag.
Doesnt recognise some of my key presses or will somtimes show them a second or so later.
Tried using different keyboards such as SwiftKey and Google Keyboard but still having the same issues.
Has anyone else had this issue, is it a common issue? Maybe it's down to the fact the phone is a "budget" one so to speak, therefore not as quick as I was expecting? (Coming from a Nexus 5).
my friend try to press correct button ok is it your 1st android 4n or it this your 1st time in using full keyboard in smartphone sometimes it will happen in that situation but if it doesn't i thin there is a issu of touch screen so then if ti doesnt contact the customer service
I have had many Android phones, from HTC Desire, Sensation, Sensation XE, Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3, Nexus 4 and Nexus 5.
This is by far the worst one in terms of typing. I wouldn't say it's a touch screen issue as ir recognizes my touch, but will show the letters a second or so later.
Was instant even if pressing the wrong key on my nexus phones
I think this is software prob with touch screen and maybe native xperia keyboard... if I use smart keyboard from google play keyboard response much better but not excellent alike my old xperia T...
I read somewhere that if this problem happens, to clear all the keyboard app caches
So any permanent solutions about this Lag?
Keyboard lag up to a second seems extreme. I have never experienced this. When does this happen?
Is it regardless of what app you type in?
Are you using the orginal Xperia keyboard? If so, try erasing its cache from settings apps show all apps and reboot. Make sure that no recent app that you installed has caused this lag. Try removing installed apps AFTER the keyboard began to lag. If it doesn't work, reset your phone but this will erase everything so make sure you back up.
Best of luck.
I recently bought the Z3 Compact to replace my humongous Z3. I love it! But I started experiencing the lag about a week ago. I did what one user suggested - clear the keyboard cache and restart. That seems to have fixed the problem. I am guessing that this problem started when I installed the Google Keyboard. Anyway, I deleted the Google Keyboard, cleared Xperia Keyboard cache, restarted and it's working fine now. Thanks.
