Keyboard Keys wrong..!

I have got a new Xperia X10 mini Pro. Th problem is that the slide out keyboard mapping is probably wrong or some setting needs to be done.

When I press a key with "?" on the slideout keyboard I get a ":" on the screen. This happens for other symbols also Numbers and alphets are correct only the symbols are messed up.

Please help.

Hi, are you using the Xperia X10 Mini Pro or the Xperia Mini Pro?

Regarding your issue, when did this happen? What input keyboard are you using? Did you test and confirm the error with another input keyboard?

I am using X10 Mini Pro. The issue started from the first time I used the slidout keyboard. I dont understand the meaning of Input keyboard but I did change the Language and tried but didnt succeed.

Launch Messaging app>New message, longpress on 'Write message' area, this will allow you to change input keyboard.

Try the default input keyboard, see if you are having the same error.

when I long press on "Write Message" area its gives me an option on "INPUT method"  when I click that i get "DEFAULT INPUT" already checked (Radio Button) and no other option. I clicked it again and tried... No Difference ...

Have you done any software update/repair? You may want to consider doing it, unless you are able to check with another friend with the same phone model.

I got this phone as a replacement to my old phone under warranty. The old phone had no such problem.

I didnt do a software repair or update..!

Please advice How to do a repair ??

A software repair can only resolve software issue (not sure if yours is due to software issue), anyway if this does not work, suggest you send it back for warranty.

Here's the download link to Update Service for Software Repair, http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/. Download and install to PC/Laptop, launch it and follow on-screen instructions. Be aware that this process will erase phone data completely, backup if necessary.
