Had the Sony Xperia U since the 22nd of June now, and the entire time I've had it there have been problems.
The most prevalent of which is the issue with the keyboard. It presses buttons twice. Every single time. It started out with just occasionally doing it, and a quick reboot would sort it, but now it has became such an issue I cannot use the phone anymore.
Every text message, email and phonecall takes at least twice the time, as I have to go back to delete the extra letters or numbers, and sometimes the delete key double presses as well so it takes luck to do anything correctly. And if I get annoyed and think " I'll just fire up the laptop" and go to press the home button or the back button, which are not on the screen, I get nothing. Then I go to reboot to try and fix it, and nothing. I resort to taking the battery out.
I bought this phone even after all the warnings from people who have had other Sony phones that have went wrong, and hoped I could prove them wrong, but it appears I can't.
If anyone else has a solution for this then can they please post it. Any help at all would be amazing, as with a couple phonecalls to Sony's help desk I was informed that it was the carriers fault (I don't see how).
For added information incase anyone thinks it's a dirty screen, I thought so too but still have the same problem after cleaning the screen. To my knowledge it has never been dropped from any considerable height and it has never been in contact with water. There are no software updates available for me, and the SIM card is fine, although I don't see how that can matter, but for the guy I spoke to in the call centre, I'll throw him a bone and fire that in there too.
Thanks in advance.
