Hi Guys
I am finally back on this forum after a long long time.
Ok. So, there is this major issue which has come up with my mini pro sk17i.
As soon as the keyboard is pulled out, the phone freezes/hangs. Then I push the keyboard back, press the power button on top and now when I push the power button again to light up the screen, the screen rather shows some blue/green/rd lights which diminishes and the screen goes black. I can feel that the operations are going on but just that the screen is blank.
After a while, the screen comes up and I can operate normally unless the keyboard is pulled out. As soon as the keyboard is slided out, the sam happens. I am frustrated with this since its hell to type with touch since screen is very small.
Now I can think of following 3 reasons for this happenings:
1.) I recently updated my phone to some latest version which was available. As fr as I remember, this has started immediately after updating.
2.) Or this phone has been repaired some 4 months back at a service center because screen had become unresponsive. So they had replaced whole the part above the keyboard. I just have a feeling, may be,something (any wire connection) may have become loose. Just guessing.
3.) Or this is altogether unlinked new hardware problem. I am not sure.
Any insightsor if anyone thinks he knows whats going on and what should I do..?
The phone is now out of warranty since it is 1 year and 2 months old.
Please help. Thanks
The usual advice for correcting software issues after an update is to run a "repair" installation using PCC or SUS - but that's only really applicable if your recent update was an official Sony/provider one. If you're using a third-party or modded OS, you'll need to look for an update or alternative from the developers. (Note - a repair update will basically reset the phone to defaults and you will lose any saved or personal files - so you'll need to back-up anything important)
If it's hardware related, not much to do except physically repair the phone.
My advice is to try the software repair first - because it's free and fairly quick/safe.
To be honest this unfortunately sounds like an issue with the flex cable in which case I would have to advise that you return the phone for assessment by an authorised repair agent.
