Same as the title states, do we know for certain that the Xperia Sola will not be recieving any more updates? Or do we still have a chance of something popping out later?
there are other on going threads on the same topic, so far Sony hasn't said anything about not releasing any more minor updates to this phone, it will not get any major updates (which means no Jelly Bean at all just bug fixes.
Sony ? Update ? Does not compute...
No, don't hope anything from sony, not even bugfixes.
sony has never said anything usefull on this forum since I bought my sola and joined. so they'll just leave us hanging for a year more and then say "oh well, the support period for this phone is now over, .
I'm putting my faith with the cyanogen/freexperia guys. they deliver where sony fails. and my next phone will not be a sony, I'll try and avoid the brand completely.

I posted a reply here on monday, but it was deleted (probably by the same reason as yours)...
Quoting from the http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/software/why-update/
A software update is the best way to keep your phone working smoothly. Better yet: our software updates bring you improvements too. New features, better performance and speed, bug fixes … so make sure your phone runs on the latest software version.
So, where are the bug fixes? Where is the better perfirmance and speed?
There are dozens of issues reported in this forum, yet soutions for them from sony are none.
how to be more comprehensive?
I completely agree
Hey , there's an update from android 2.3 to android 4.0.4 . Don't worry . After upgrade it's smooth and pretty nice .

Not smooth at all. When i connect my sola to computer it fails to work properly. Battery charging hangs and after disconnect android system starts to drain battery 10% in one hour. Only restart helps. I was forced to downgrade back to GB and now it works normally.
So, other brands offer Android 4.1 to single core phones, but i have to stick with 2.3. Somebody have to be fired for this. I thought i saw everything when i bought computer with Windows Vista, but this is even bigger fail. Now my options are to stay with GB, have warranty and hope, that GB can manage the things i use or lose warranty and install custom rom.
