Jelly Bean Update Problems Xperia T

Finally the highly anticipated Update is with us... really cool changes and you can actually feel the potential of the phone with the new update.

But with all been said and done, there are some bugs that seem to have been picked up.

Namely:

1.  Walkman App

As a music lover and a huge Sony fan, the Walkman app is one of the few Apps that keep me in love with the Brand, but with Jelly Bean, it is starting to be irritating due to the fact that, when ever you play your music and carry on with your life. After a track, there is a sudden pause, to a point it starts to feel awkward waiting for the next track to play until you actually unlock your phone to investigate what seems to be the problem, but before yoou can continue with the investigation, as soon as the phone is unlocked, the next qued track plays immediately.

well at first i though this was just a once-of thing... but it seemed to have done this on a regular basis.

well dont get me wrong, apart from this minor glitch, the app seems to be one of the best Music Apps out there.

2. Sync Tools Widget

Even now i am still asking myself why did Sony decide to cut out such a useful feature on my opinion. On the previous OS (Ice Cream), this little tool was one of my favourites. Helped me alot to cut down data and switch it on again when ever i wanted to use twitter, Save Battery Life or read my new emails. Now that this Functionality is not available, i cant seem to stop asking myself... "WHY??" and "WHAT ABOUT DATA USAGE?"

3. Lock Screen

The new Lock Screen is awesome loving it! But i just have a minor concern on when ever you lock your screen... a thin blue pixel strip appears every time one seems to lock ones phone... for me its a concern and doesnt seem stable at all... This has to be looked in to

4. Radio App

I love how Sony managed to enhance the Clear of sound in both the Walkman App and Radio App. but my only problem is that, the Previous radio application had a noise reduction to it and when ever you were to drive in a tunnel or area with a a low freequency level for your channel, instead of being irritated by the noise it will make when there is no signal, the app would automatically reduce the noise and wait till there is a strong signal again and carries on with the broadcast.

Now with the new Update... the noise reduction is not on and it gets very irritating.

Apart from all there Bugs, the new Jelly Bean is awesome and as a Developer i unberstand how a deadline and timeline can hinder softwares and not enough testing can lead to bugs. Surely Sony Is working on these bugs as we speak and i am already expecting an update SOON!

I will rate this an 8 out of 10... just cos of these Bugs.

Hope this information will be useful to Sony

Thank You

I can confirm the Walkman issue, too. The player won't go to the next track after finishing the previous one. Even more so, Sony has not even implemented gapless playback, which was a higly requested feature and should be one of Sony's main priorities to include in the update since they focus so much on music.

As for the lockscreen: when I turn the screen on from stand-by, it needs some time to load the wallpaper, which leads to a black screen with only icons for half a second. Quite annoying.

I am quite disappointed with all these issues the new update brought.

JB is a good update, but FULL of bugs.

Let's expect that Sony will so something about it.

Thanks for the feedback!

Regarding enabling/disabling data quickly manually you can do that from the notification bar.

Hi, can confirm Walkman problem; on mine, it seems to hang until I investigate, it is particularly annoying. The Walkman App has previously always fine and one of the best things about the phone, I'm going to have to swap to something else in the meantime.

Other comments, Jelly Bean seems otherwise great,

ok i understand that part... Do you still remember how the previous OS had a Sync Widget, that would automatically allow certain applications to be live when it was enabled. but now since the new update, this widget was not available anymore.

this helped alot with battery life and data usage without disabling data fromt the notification bar.

But thank you for your reply regardless!

Further to my previous comments, I notice in the discussions that Jelly Bean has not gone out across all networks.  Amazon cloud player works fine with music on the device.

For Sony's info, my network is O2, UK, phone bought October 2012, build no. 9.1.A.0.489.

The notification bar has only 4 quick switch: Mute, Wifi, Mobile data, Bluetooth.

Where is the auto sync? Or how can you add it?
