JB update - encryption failing

After upgrading to JB I tried resyncing my corporate emails. As the norm corporate policy requires full disk encryption. On 4.1.1 this wasn't an issue as the version was too old, on 4.1.2 it appears to be upto date enough to prompt for encryption. I jump through the hoops and start the encryption off but the green droid icon just sits there on screen. Left it for well over 3 hours and still nothing doing.

I've read that this is an issue with these devices.

Is there a fix/workaround or an option to roll back to 4.1.1 as I am unable to receive corp emails. Heaven forbid this hasn't happened to someone with a company supplied device...

Please advise. I'd be happy to role back to 4.1.1 as it just worked.

+ 1 - I left mine to encrypt overnight, little green driod just sat there, phone did not even get warm.

Sony please help... as much as I like having no corpoate email... we need a solution.

Thanks

So I've managed to get a work around until they get this working.

Make sure you keep your previous backup of ur phone from before .200.

You can download the .ftf file (LT26_6.1.A.2.55_CE) is the one you want and install using "Flasshtool" which you can find links to on xda-developers forum. No need to root or unlock to do this so warranty stays intact and you are using official image. this roles wipes your device and reinstalls 4.0.4.

reinstall PC Companion from the phone when you connect over USB and restore your previous .dbk file to the device.

Next step do not upgrade again until someone confirms this works.

on a side note though I have an Onda v972 tablet with 4.2.2 on and that too doesn't allow device encryption.
