Issues updating my Xperia C2305 using bridge for mac

Hi,

I bought a Sony Xperia C2305 just yesterday, and I've been trying to install the latest update 16.0.B.2.13. The current version on the device is 16.0.B.0.21. The notification on the phone says Computer required, and I have a mac. I've installed Sony Bridge for Mac, but when I connect the phone to my Mac, no notification for an upgrade shows up (which is how the user guide says it should work) thought he device connects successfully.

My mac is running OS X version 10.9.2 (Maverick) and java version 1.6.0_65.

How do I upgrade to the latest firmware using a Mac? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Anushavish,

I will ask the development crew and get back to you. Sometimes the Update Engine can cause problems, and you need to restart Bridge and your phone, and wait a while for it to work again.

Hi David,

Thanks for the reply - much appreciated. I've tried contacting the India support center by email but they have not been of much help. I've tried everythign including reinstalling java, restarting the bridge and my phone, restarting the mac but nothing has worked so far. I know this update is available in India - for some reason I'm not alerted of it's availability.

I also found another bug when using the phones in roaming mode - where do I report it?

Hi Anusha,

I haven't been able to get a solution from the development crew yet, but I'm working on it. I apologize that it's taking a long time. 

As for the bug you found, I'm not sure as I only work with Bridge but I will ask and get back to you!

I hope we can find a solution to your problem, as it seems that you've tried everything.

Keeps saying computer required, and I have Sony Bridge to Mac connected.

What gives??
