Issues and bugs after ICS Update... SONY please patch!

Hi,

i bought my XPERIA S's (bought 2! 1 for the job, 1 for private) in mid june and I was really happy with it. Especially because it was so fast and "smart".

Last week I did the ICS Update. And I wish I could downgrade to 2.3.x by myself, now... I even talked to the Sony Mobile Support, if they do!? But they don't,... they say they don't downgrade the XPERIA S, because updates will come! pff... i knew such "things" from the XPERIA PLAY, from the SATIO and even from the K800i (i had 'em all before)... maybe I will ask my provider, if I can give it back and get an "new" SXS with 2.3.x...

Here is what i noticed,... the issues makes me sick, frustrated and very sad:

- Cam-Button doesn't work as good as it should (and worked b4) [need 2 press the button once, twice,... and so on, b4 it starts the cam-app)

- NFC-Tags are not supported anymore (the SXS can't detect them)

- Walkman makes a lot a problems (freezes, its deleting playlists and so on)

- 3D-Album is "almost" missing (I can't watch 3d-pix on my bravia now... because the gallery don't show the 3D-Button in the right corner - or: not on every 3D-pic)

- Standard-Mail-Program is nearly useless (deleted mails r still shown, can't delete mails anymore, combined inbox can't check 4 new mails)

- Wi-fi was better, stronger and much more powerful with its original fw (2.3.x)

- Videos from Video Unlimited don't run on my SXS anymore (Sony Support works on it,... allegedly)

- Recorded Videos in Full HD r making problems (every 2,5 mins it freezes 4 a sec)

And the fact, that ICS is so brutally ugly is just the "cream topping"...

I'm deeply disappointed, extremly unlucky with this Update... and I have just a little hope left, that SONY will fix ALL THIS issues...

But this "ray" of hope dies last...

Camera button - hold the button instead of just a quick press.  I can get it to open the camera everytime this way.

NFC tags are working for me.  Detects them fine but the screen has to be unlocked.

Standard mail app works for me and my iCloud imap email account.  Perhaps its the provider your email is through.

Wifi - I agree the signal strength isn't reporting as strong a signal as before but I haven't had any issues with it.

You can go back to gingerbread.  You have to flash the ftf file using Flashtool for the gingerbread region you want.  There is more info regarding this at www.xda-developers.com in the Xperia S section.  If you need any more help with going back to GB let me know and I can help.

Hi Xperia.I have updated to ICS few days back, i am facing some sort of weird problems as of now after the updation to ICS

Issues:

1. I been observing the FM radio problem..At some times my FM radio does not work properly, it     sounds very bad noise.the sound varies low to high.But after a restart it works fine for a while and again after some hours i hear the same noise...

2. Face Unlock option is invisible after factory reset.but it was there after ICS update.

3. when i unlock the screen the icons in album app goes invisible(some times) and if i click on applications icon my screen HANGS:smileyangry: and same happens for any missed calls and disconnect the call.

4. Before Upgrade to ICS, I have taken the Backup like Contacst,Messages,call logs,settings and others through PC companion on desktop. After upgrade to ICS,when i restored, i got back everything except messages:smileyconfused: which are very important for me. Guys Please let me know is there any solution to get my messages back..:smileycry:

I belive sony is one of the reputed electronic manfacturer in the world and i hope there might not be hardware or device problem.if this is a software issue please look into the mentioned issues and re-release the update and add some apps which were there in GB or else every one(Xperia users) forceably has to downgrade to GB. As there are enough common threads for sony to resolve and fix the issues, Please look into the issues and resolve as soon as possible.

Some of the same happening to my SXS with ICS:

1: nfc not detecting tags

2: Quick launch camera works some/most of the time

3: random restarts

Really dissapointed with nfc as just bought sony tags;  Great looking compared to the generics, but for now no more use than oversized tiddlywinks!

After ICS upgrade on XPERIA S, I have 2 problems as described above :

1. the FM radio has sometimes a very strange sound, a reboot solves the problem

2. the NFC smart tags don't work at all (and I am not running any task killer or antivirus)

Well I knew it wouldn't be just me so here I am.  I've experienced most of these problems too since the upgrade to ICS.  Kinda wished I'd left it on GB.

1) NFC Tags extremely intermittent - so much so that they're unuseable.

2) Standard email program is a backward step with no option to refresh all accounts from Combined view as they did before

3) Not so smooth scrolling from some apps.

Disappointing Sony.  These problems are not worth losing for the small tweeks you get with ICS.

Let's have some patches please and quickly.  I love my SXS or rather I did.

my problems after ICS:
1. NFC Tags doesn´t work properly ( i have to try 10 times, or it doesn´t work at all)
2. After taking photo when the phones is locked it sometimes restarts
3. Wifi turns on when it wants

4. Runnig slower

Hope Jelly Bean will solve this problems (but i am sick of waiting for new update, after waiting for ICS and it sucks)

The FM radio problem seems to have disappeared with the last upgrade.

But the NFC still there.
