Issues after flashing

Guys I am really confused about these flashing processes. Have some questions.

-If I flash my neo V with the rom which is provided and said to be official in xda forum, does it mean I have flashed my neo V with a custom rom even if it is said to be official?

-Is there any way to check that the roms provided in xda forum and said to be official are really official?

-If I flash my neo V with the GB rom which is provided in xda forum and said to be official, and after that I connect my neo V to PC via PC Companion, does the PC companion do an official upgrade and upgrade my neo V to the very official ICS originally saved in Sony's servers? (What I mean is, does this operation give my warranty back?)

-What is the repair algorithm of PC Companion, or SUS?

-If Android is a open source project and Sony says they support this, why do they officially publish stock roms?

Please try to answer my questions with technical details. I am electronics engineer and desire satisfying technical details.

Thanks already.

1.) no, an example of custom roms are cyangonmod etc. roms other than the ones provided by OEMS that is custom roms

2) try to ask the one who posted the roms.

3.) Yes,  if the region of the rom you flashed received the ICS update

4.) not sure what you meant by that. but mostly SUS is better in updating in repairing software

5.) Android is a product of Google, they release and manufacturers will be free to customize the the update. this is one way Sony support http://www.xda-developers.com/android/sony-releases-xperia-s-binaries-for-aosp-support/

6.)

First of all, thanks.

What I mean by "What is the repair algorithm of PC Companion, or SUS?" is that, I wonder how SUS repairs my phone? What are the steps of this process? And I think only Sony guys who wrote this program (SUS) can answer that Slightly_smiling_Face

I do know Android is a product of Google. What I mean by "-If Android is a open source project and Sony says they support this, why do they officially publish stock roms?" is that, for example if I want to downgrade to GB, I have to find a GB rom which was previously backed-up by a user. Why can't I just get the official ftf file of GB officially from Sony?

Thanks again Slightly_smiling_Face

afaik I know, SUS will re-install the present OS on the phone, that's how it repairs.

Our commitment to offering you the best, means that once upgraded you will not be able to revert back to an older version of Android.
