Issues after a software update which went wrong

Hi everybody.

My phone doesnt show anything after a software update which went wrong, I was updating my xperia L to the latest software but something went wrong and it didnt finish so I had to restart my phone but now it doesnt show anything...its display is always black and it doesnt turn on or anything so what can I do?

connect the phone to the wall charger for 30min then start the whole update process all over

or

try to press Power & Volume up for 8 seconds
