Issue with screen gamma

Good morning all Slightly_smiling_Face

Well, My girl friend bought one of these smarthphones and i had to buy one for myself. They are just amaizing. But, I have a problem:

I just got mine yesterday and when comparing to my girlfriends one the screen gamma is diferent. Mine is more "red" so the whites are not so white and the blacks are not no black... I some situations is great speacialy in pictures with lost of colours.

It's like the diference betwen the samsung amoled and a IPS screen and i rather prefere to have realistic colours than the over saturated ones like my phone.

So and wanted to ask you guys if this is normal? If you've been having problems like this and if can be fixed?

If a factory reset with pc companie heps i can do it...

Thank you very much in advanced

Try comparing the Firmware Version of your phone to your girlfriend and if you have different versions probably you need to update your firmware or you could just simply calibrate it on the White Balance in the display settings to suit your viewing choice.

The firmware is the same and I,ve already calibrated the white balances.

Do you think this is a faulty phone?

Have you tried to turn off x reality engine. The colors with that enabled are horrendous. I am a photographer and used to calibrate screens. I can't double check i since my brand new Xperia Z2 after 4 days of ownership is sent to repair for dust inside the lens and 4K audio out of sync with the video.

I've tried that but no luck. I'm not sure of what to do. If i return it or not... Tonight when i get home i'll post a pictures with the diferences...

If you think you're girlfriend's screen gamma setup is much better than yours and it really bugs you then you should return it and had it replace with one that pleased you, if it persist maybe it isn't much of a problem at all. Try unchecking the adapt to ambient light in the screen brightness mode perhaps having higher light intensity gives off that reddish tint in your screen. This characteristic is only observed in the Xperia Z1 however with slight a blue tint not red.
