Hi guys,
I'm trying to play with the brand new Anki Overdrive racing cars, but as also some other users with Z1, Z1 Compact or some Xperia Tablet report to Anki, it won't work with our devices.
To explain shortly: It's a racetrack with cars that are remotely controlled via Bluetooth by the Overdrive App.
Min requirements are:
Android 4.4 (Z1 = 5.1.1)
1GB RAM (Z1 = 2GB)
Bluetooth 4.0 LE (Z1 = supported)
My Z1 can start the App, connect to the cars via Bluetooth, so it can see and bind with them, but they won't start driving.
It looks like, the Z1 doesn't really communicate with the cars.
They are using BT4 LE protocols, because the phone has to communicate with up to 4 cars simultanusly.
I guess, that Sony hasn't applied all the LE protocols.
Is there any chance to check this? Or 'install' BT4 protocols?
I'm not sure, if Sony brings another update to the Z1. If so, I would like to have full BT4 LE support in it.
BTW: The Z3 is the only reported device that works with Anki Overdrive.
Best Regards
Michael
Unfortunately I don't know if it is possible to update this or enable using 3rd party software, but from what I can see, the company does only list Xperia Z3 as compatible. https://anki.com/en-us/overdrive/getting-started#compatible-devices
