Is this a network problem? or something wrong with my phone?

My xperia s keeps on showing a notification saying

"Restricted access changed, emergency services blocked"

Can any body help me?

Are you able to place any outgoing calls or receive any incoming?

Have you checked if this notification remains if you insert another SIM card?

I think this some network problem.

Thanks for taking time to reply. This problem occurs when i restart my xperia S. When i click on the notification it goes away. I can recieve and make calls and also use mobile data without problem.

I checked without another sim. The same thing happened. But when i turned 3g on the notification disappeared. Once i turned it off it reappeared.

I still use 2g with my own sim. it does not support 3g.

What maybe the problem and how can i solve it.

Maybe it's some communication problem on the 3G network. Since your SIM card doesn't support 3G you can try to set the phone to only search for GSM networks and see if the same error appears.

Settings > Wireless & networks > More > Mobile networks > Network mode > Only GSM.

Hey i did that and restarted the phone. The same notification appeared again.

When i clicked it disappeared.

Is there anything i can do. Can i disable that notification.

I can use mobile data and call. Only the notification is irritating.

I don't think it's possible to disable that notification since it probably comes as an command from the network. Unfortunately I do not have any other tip for you than to check with your network operator if they might know something about this.

Hi, there.

It seems that the same notification also appears on my phone, but the wording is different.

Mine's like:

"Restricted access changed, voice service is blocked."

and

"Restricted access changed, data service is blocked."

When I touch on the notifications, they disappear.

I am worried if something is wrong with the phone. I can still use the phone normally, I should think, but the notifications sometimes appear again after I restart the phone.

My build number is 6.1.A.2.45

Never happened on the previous firmware.

Please anyone have any idea?
