The recent JB update for Xperia S and Xperia Ion was plagued with serious bugs that really questions Sony's ability to produce quality software. Fortunately, after several months of waiting, Sony admitted to all the bugs and launched a new update (6.2.B.1.96) to fix it: (blogs.sonymobile.com/2013/08/26/now-rolling-jelly-bean-4-1-firmware-update-for-xperia-s-xperia-sl-xperia-acro-s/).
Xperia S and Xperia Ion uses the same software version base, meaning, whatever bugs Xperia S suffered, Xperia Ion will suffer equally too. It was mentioned in your blog post that the bug fixes are coming to Xperia S, Acro S and SL but Xperia Ion is conspicuously absent in the list as usual. When Sony released the Xperia Ion, it proudly advertise that it contains the best camera and now, the basic functions like video recording lags badly (which you guys admitted in the blog post) and there’s zero sign from Sony that it even remembers Xperia Ion.
Can you assist me by asking the Sony software development team if the bug fixes (6.2.B.1.96) will be coming for Xperia Ion users and the estimated arrival? I hope not to get back Sony's favourite reply: "We don't know anything", which shows Sony lack of professionalism in protecting consumers' interest. It can be assured that if Sony's reply is “We don't know anything", I will personally guarantee that I will never recommend any Sony products as they simply cannot assure quality software operating basic functionalities.
