Dear All,
After using xperia Ray for last 3 years, i have finally bought a xperia Z3 couple of days back. I currently live in Bangladesh, and as far as I enquired there is no original sony store or sony service center available here. So i happen to buy my z3 from a local shop with no warranty whatsoever. (Taken a big risk, I know
)
Everything seemed okay with the phone as i went through the service test menu in the store. Came home,upon connecting to wifi the phone received a new update. After updating i connected the phone using pc companion, which instantly recognized it as a Z3 D6653.
But then, i noticed that the battery is going down rather very quickly. Even after switching on stamina mode and turning wifi, bluetooth, NFC off the device is losing 1-2% batter every hour on standby. And it takes about 3 hours and 15 minutes to charge the battery to 100% from 10%, without using the phone with stamina mode on. Someone with proper knowledge,please check the screen shots I have taken, and let me know if this is normal for a Xperia Z3.
Then i noticed some very slight dents on the top right corner of the back side of the phone and a chinese sticker on the side, CCAI144G0260T8 written on it, which made me think if the phone has been tempered with or if its a faulty refurbished unit.
I have been a loyal xperia customer, and this phone cost me around 540 USD. I am willing to PM the IMEI and other infos to any xperia support team members or admins who if possible would be able to check the background the device. Help?
Tnx in advance.
This is my Z3 box the compact one is very similar to this as well
First thanks every one for previous responses and sorry about my late reply. Last couples of days have been hectic for various reasons. On 2nd of february I got a mail from one very helpful xperia support stuff stating that the unit I got had been taken out of the box and was connected to and updated with PC Companion on 2014-12-24 before I purchased it on 28-01-2014 and it came from Taiwan! But unfortunately since it was not possible for him to check he could not confirm if the phone had been previously used or not.
Nevertheless, the battery performance of my Xperia Z3 kept on deteriorating as I kept on observing for 5 days. On 5th day I took it the shop I bought it from and asked for a replacement since they were not supposed to sell me a phone that were taken out of the box for whatever reasons (and perhaps been used) prior to my purchase. Initially they denied any responsibility saying any complaint I have with the phone must be lodged within 48 hours of purchase! But as I kept on pushing on the basis that I bought it as a brand new phone and according to Xperia Stuff's response the phone had been taken out of the box and was connected to and updated with PC Companion on 2014-12-24, they eased down a bit and told me that they are not sure but they would try to replace it, although it would take 7-15 days (not more) as they are sending it to China to see what’s wrong with the phone!(I dont believe that a bit!) And there is no guarantee that they will replace it in the end!!
Having no other alternatives as it was a faulty and perhaps a used unit (Taken out of the Box for sure); I left the phone in the store I bought it from along with all the accessories in box on 5-2-2015. Today on 18-02-2015 when I called them for updates, the store guy who I have been dealing with acted vague and informed me it will take more time (7 Days more) and in the end I might have to pay more money to them if they kindly decide replace it!
I declined to pay any more money for replacing a faulty and perhaps a used unit which I bought as a never opened, boxed, brand new phone.
Since there is no official Sony mobile repair center in Bangladesh, I am really not sure what I'm going to do now. I feel like I have been cheated and used.
I just want everyone to be careful while buying any Sony mobile in Bangladesh. Most of them could be refurbished and faulty or taken out of the boxes, as I have checked other shops and Xperia Z3 boxes, they all appeared to be same as the one I bought with same ( most probably fake) flashy Xperia seal-tape on the boxes! And there is no legit Sony repair center. So if something goes wrong, there is no way to fix it!
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I have lost 540$ for noting to be honest
, and I most probably have.
all phones sent from Sony shall have 2 white stickers on box with SONY repeated on sticker that means box is legit and never been opened but since you said your box where having fake shiny sticker which i can see on your picture it defently means stores in bangladesh is probably buying all the z3 off some refurbished company in china that has used these z3 phones for short while and then sold them away to people for the full price, instead of buying straight off sony.
