My 6 week old Z3 compact developed a fault on the main camera.
all icons appear but the screen is black. My provider has told me that this fault is not covered by the warranty and that a charge of £70.00 is applicable for the repair.
I was advised by a friend to send to phone back to Sony instead. I have now started a repair order but in the information received it states that "if the fault is not covered by the warranty, there will be a handling and return fee payable".
The warranty information i have found states exclusions for physical damage but is otherwise very vague.
Has anybody else had a camera repair under warranty or is anybody aware of (or can they forward to me) more specific warranty exclusion information?

i have contacted Sony support(but not had a reply yet) but was wondering if there was anybody on here who had had the same problem and if it had been repaired under warranty or not.
Hi, have a look in the SEARCH BAR above.....alter the wording of your question, you will probably come across a few posts regarding this & hopefully some things you may be able to try before having to send it in for repair :smileysmileywink:
Have you tried to clear the data of the camera app?
Or a software repair in PC Companion?
I'm pretty sure it would be repaired under warrenty if the defect is not your fault.
