Interrupted Update

I can not enter into my phonebook and it is not possible to make any call. I can receive calls, but I can not look after the calling list. When I touch the phone book symbol, the following message appear: " We are sorry. The contacts aplication (procesocom.sonyercsoon.android.socialphonebook has unexpectely been interupted. Try again"

¿Anyone could help me?. I can use whatsapp, it means, the phonebook must be somewhere there.

Daft question on my part, but you have tried rebooting the phone havent you?

That's odd, I don't quite understand the "Subject" on this thread, could you elaborate, what do you mean by "Interrupted update"?
