Dear all,
For my daughter I purchased the Sony Ericsson smartphone Xperia Arc S LT18i via internet from a dealer (online webshop) in Hong Kong, as a gift to her highschool diploma. The only reason for buying it in Hong Kong was that I didn't find it - in her most preferred colour Sakura PINK
- neither in Germany nor in Western Europe.
Whats about an international warranty (guarantee) - also valid in/for Germany?
I already registered the phone accordingly on the Hong Kong My Sony Mobile web page (https://www.sony.com.hk/registration/warrantyReg.do?lang=en) ... but in Germany the usual duration of warranty is two years. How can I get the same warranty period in Germany?
Thanks in advance, and kind regards,
JoPeters
The warranty is regional and if phone is bought from Hong Kong the warranty won't be valid in Germany. To get a warranty in Germany you need to buy the phone from any EU country.
You can get more info about this from your local support team or in each markets warranty documents.

You don't get FREE warranty period if that's what you are asking. You can still receive repair service at Germany's service center but you'd have to pay.
But some Sony products do have international warranty, such as MD Walkman、CD Walkman、Network Walkman、Digital Handycam、Digital Still Camera、D-SLR and D-SLR Lens when you buy from Hong Kong. But that's another department.
