Insufficient storage to update/install apps

I have enought storage on my internal storage but keep having issues updating or installing.

how much space is left? is it bigger than the update needed? try to first clear the apps data . restart your phone and then apply the update..

Hi @osmoses,

Do you have a notification warning you that you are running out of memory? If so you will have to clear some memory on the Device Memory which is where apps are mainly stored. The Internal storage is mainly used for media files such as photos.

That is the issue i have with this sony phone. Some application are fixed on phone memory and cannot be moved. I have other android and i can move applications to internal memory and free up space. It shows the warning. All app are important,

You need at least 500MB + the size of the app

It is as Uliwooly says, your phone needs some free storage to be able to download new or update existing apps. The only way to be able to do so in this case is by freeing up storage on the phone memory.

Freeing up storage means to delete some apps OR move some of them into internal storage??
