You cannot add memory to the phone unless you root.Sony does not permit moving the apps to the microsd card.
hey, I have the same problem ...
... only a few apps on my Xperia J which I use regularly ... but those can't be updated due to too low memory ... any suggestion of easy root software which could be simply used by a non expert like me?
thx Ralf
This is not a problem of low memory. I also have this disastrous phone and although I have over 200MB free memory, a lot of apps won't install (not necessarily big ones, sometimes small ones won't get installed while bigger ones will). The same with updating. This phone is screwed up - or at least the factory-installed system is.
Pawel,no offence, but when you are looking to buy a phone, you need to inform a little about everything(price, specs, company).Personally,I tell you that from the first time I saw J,I did not like it and it seemed like a trouble maker.I played with the phone for a while, but still did not like it.
I am an iPhone owner butgot my son a J. I am really frustrated for him. He only has a few apps but is getting these same blockages adding or updating apps.
Can someone please explain what is happening ? This is what I see when I look in the settings section:
Phone Memory: Total Space 754Mb. Apps 633Mb Available 90.55Mb
Internal Storage: Total Space 2.01Gb. Apps 162Mb ... others... Available 1.59Gb
SD Card: Total Space 29.71Gb. Available 29.50Gb
Where is the problem that is restricting apps ? Anyone ?
Apps are installed in phone memory.Try to move some of them to internal memory.
Thanks alexdon - I have seen instructions for moving apps to the SD card but never to the Internal memory ... can you give me some help on that ? many thanks.
I have done so much googling of this and some people say all apps should be installing into the 2Gb of Internal storage and some say no, they are correctly installing into Phone storage ... it really is a muddle.
