I have just upgraded the sd card to a 16gb. all went well, but I notice that the internal phone storage is just 4 mb. HOW can I increase the internal phone storage... ie at the expense of some of the 16gb sd card storage??
anyone know?
You can only increase the size of your phone memory by deleting unwanted apps and other personal data already stored in the phone memory, but as far as I know, you can't add extra memory space from the memory card to the phone memory.
Thanks, but.....I thought with android 2.1, that I get to determine where the applications get stored....ie making use of the 16gb storage card..otherwise what was the point in buying a 16gb upgrade card.?
You need to have Android 2.2 in order to save apps to your SD Card (for supported apps).
You can use your 16 SD Card for saving other stuff, music, video, photos .... etc. Who knows, maybe there will be an update for Android 2.2?
thanks very much...not the answer I was hoping for, but at least I know now.
Well transferring data from memory card to phone memory and vice-versa is another way of freeing-up memory in either, but the actual total available memory in the phone memory and memory card remains unchanged.
One way to 'conserve' your phone memory is to pick your apps deligently. What is must have? What is nice to have? What is better off don't have?
well Dr Chris, how does one transfer from phone memory to card memory?
The same here, I've just bought a new memory card in order to have more applications on my phone but unfortunately it was useless !!
