Incorrectly drawn pattern 20 times; cannot unlock with any method

Hi, I am having issues with my phone; After failing to enter the pattern correctly 20 times, the phone is asking me to answer the security question. I was unable to answer the security question with capitalised letters, lower case letters, trailing spaces, etc.

I am aware of other threads which have this issue resolved, but none of the other methods have worked for my phone (Xperia J)

I have tried the sony update service, but it does not recognise my phone after prompting me to "hold down the volume key on the phone while plugging the usb cable"

I have tried the Sony PC Companion 2.1, but after plugging in my phone I get an error saying "Your phone/tablet memory is not accessible. PC companion needs to have access to the phone/tablet memory in order to connect to the phone/tablet"

I have tried the ADB bridge method but get an "error: device not found" message (this might be due to not having usb debugging enabled on the phone however; since I am not able to actually change any settings on the phone I cannot see if this should be working).

Please help!

Is there any way I can force a factory reset (without answering the security question)?

Is there any reason why I am unable to use the sony software update service or sony pc companion programs?

My phone is still under the two year warranty. Should I submit a warranty request since the official sony software is not working (and would normally be how I would factory reset my phone) ?

You cannot access the phone without the security password.Only SUS can help you here.I wonder why it does not work.Did you turn off the phone before connecting?

Yes, I have tried turning it off and waiting 60 seconds before turning it back on.

Is this issue (PCC/SUS not working with the phone) covered under warranty?

If you still have warranty, you should stop by a sony service:
