incoming text message tone

Hi,   I was wondering if there is some way to make the incoming text message tone play longer than 1 second.

I am always missing any text messages I recieve cause one second worth of sound isnt long enough for me to hear anything.  an example for instance is if someone rang my doorbell and text me at the same time I would not know I recieved a text cause my doorbell is louder and about a half sec longer. So this overpowers my text tone.

I have had my phone for a month and not once have I been able to hear incoming tone from text message.

I think I just might return the phone cause my nokia played incoming text tones for 5 seconds and even longer; a whole song would play if I so desired.

Why dont you change your tone then from messaging>settings>notification tone> if you want a longer tone you can even keep MP3 tone as your msg tone ... depends on you
