Improvements for Xperia S in the next update.

The Xperia S is a great phone but it needs quite a few improvements, I've written quite a long E-mail to Sony on things they can improve and I thought I should share it here.

If you have any more improvements please post them below.

I've covered a wide range of things which you should improve in the next update:

1. Camera:

- Add 'tap focus' for 'Scene Recognition' and 'Full HD' videos, and 'tap focus' should not only focus but also change the exposure levels accordingly, like on the iPhone.

- Add noise reduction softwares, and give us the option to either keep them on or off, that way I could turn them on at night and turn the software off in the morning.

2. Performance

- The Xperia S does not lag but the user available RAM is only 635 Mb, please increase it, if it were say over 700 Mb we would greatly appreciate it, and if it were to increase to 800 Mb of user available RAM we would call you miracle workers!

- Make multitasking faster, swiping and closing thumbnails on the multitasking window should be made smoother and faster like on the Galaxy S2 or S3.

- Make the interface take up as much less RAM as possible.

- Make scrolling between messages or list faster, when you open a conversation and swipe to the beginning of the conversation it often has hiccups and lags in between, please remove this 'listview scrolling lag' in the Jellybean update.

3. Battery

- You should give us an option to turn off the Illumination Bar and the LED notification light, this would probably impact the battery life in a positive way.

- Add "4x longer standby time", which is available on Xperia T.

4. General Settings:

- Add "Wi-Fi direct."

- When WiFi is turned on the Xperia S should automatically connect to a nearby saved WiFi network instead of us manually connecting it.

- Give us an option to use the 'menu key' for either opening the multitasking window or for opening menu options.

- Add power control in the notification shade.

5. General Errors:

- Timescape sometimes does not update for weeks or months, and when you update it manually it usually gives an error. Please make Timescape update automatically without giving you any notifications.

- When Data Traffic is disabled you do not need to give a notification "Data Traffic disabled." We know it is disabled, and frankly the notification is annoying.

- Each time you turn on GPS you always get a warning, this warning is probably the most annoying please get rid of it.

The Xperia S has never even recieved fixes for obvious bug so dont expect things like noise reduction software.

the images off the Xperia S are not particulaly noisy anyway, cant see the problem.

hold power and volume up until you feel the phone vibrate once.

They are quite noisy indoors and in low light.

The Xperia U is able to take faster shots in lowlight with less noise, and it has a 5 megapixel camera. How can this be?

I also realized another thing, Xperia S is incapable to focusing on more than one face, it can only take a portrait and not a group portrait. 😕
